Carl Charles Callicoat , a longtime Bentley resident, passed away at 3:35 PM on Friday,
April 6, 2001 at the Medical Center in Durant, Bryan County Oklahoma. Carl died of Congestive
Heart Failure at the age of 86 years 7 months and 2 days. He was born on September 4, 1914 to
William Eugene "Gene" Callicoat and Ida Matilda (McConnell) Callicoat. Carl attended schools
at East Allison and was a longtime member of the Bentley Baptist Church. He retired from the
Oklahoma State Department of Transportation with some 22 years of service. He was a farmer
and a rancher his entire life and made his home along the Caney Creek bottoms near Bentley,
Atoka County, Oklahoma. Carl Charles Callicoat and Katie Becky Maynard were married by
J.P. Sewell, a Baptist Minister, on July 3, 1933 at Bentley, Atoka County, Oklahoma with Charles
Moore and Ida Callicoat witnessing. The Marriage License was recorded on July 14, 1933 on page
314 of Marriage Record 10.

His Wife, Katie Becky (Maynard) Callicoat of the home near Bentley, Atoka County, Oklahoma.

Two Children, Charles William Callicoat and wife Virginia Ruth (Kemp) Callicoat of Bentley, Atoka County, Oklahoma and Frances Louise (Callicoat) Daffin of Edmond, Oklahoma.

Nine Grandchildren, Michael Anon Daffin and wife Denise of Sallisaw, Sequoyah County, Oklahoma;
Patricia Ann (Daffin) Anderson and husband Lloyd Lynn Anderson, Jr. of Killeen, Texas; Terry Lee
Callicoat and wife Joanne (Peeler) Callicoat of Bentley, Atoka County, Oklahoma; Alan Ray Callicoat of
Memphis, Tennesee; Ellis Wade Callicoat and wife Deanna Lea (Rogers) Callicoat of Coppell, Dallas
County, Texas; Donna Kay (Callicoat) Tucker and husband Michael Eugene Tucker of Norman, Cleveland

County, Oklahoma.

Fourteen Great-Grandchildren and two Great-Great-Grandchildren.

One Brother, William Eugene "Bill" Callicoat, Jr. and wife Nellie (Henderson) Callicoat of Lodi,
California.

Two Sisters, Florence Thelma (Callicoat) Mayo of Bentley, Atoka County, Oklahoma and Juanita (Callicoat) Varner and husband Sylvester Earl "Jack" Varner of Coweta, Oklahoma.

Sister In-Law, Mary Lou Laticia (Cooksey) Callicoat of Coweta, Oklahoma.

Along with numerous Nieces, Nephews, other relatives and many dear and loved friends.

Carl Charles Callicoat was preceded in death by his parents William Eugene "Gene" Callicoat and
Ida Matilda (Connell) Callicoat, an infant daughter Lois Ellen Callicoat, his brother Walter J. "Jack"
Callicoat, and his brother-in-law Harvey Lee "George" Mayo.

Funeral services for Carl Charles Callicoat were Tuesday, April 10, 2001 at 2:00 P.M. at the Bentley
Baptist Church with Rev. John Howard officiating and Rev. Clint Thurman assisting. The casketbearers
were Donald Coyle, Ricky Hogan, Ricky Hunt, Glen Richardson, Charles Carroll, and Sandy Danderson .
The honorary casketbearers were Kenneth Moser, Curtis Sheffield, Wayne Harris, Buster Delay, Dude
Culbreath, and Kenneth Frazier. Funeral arrangements were handled by Brown's Funeral Services, Atoka, Atoka County, Oklahoma. Carl was laid to rest beside his parents in the Bentley Cemetery,
Bentley, Atoka County, Oklahoma.
