INDEX

[NI1625] Dave G. Wood came to Van Zandt County, Texas in 1861.
In the late 1880's or early 1890's Dave moved to Wiley.
He was living at Harvey Johnson's farm in Liberty Grove,
Texas (on the Collin and Dallas County lines). In 1909 he
moved to Dr. Butler's place and later moved to Clyde in
West Texas. He returned to Wylie in 1916 and built a home
on South First Street. In 1918 he moved to Kramer farm. In
1925, the last move, he moved to Rockwall, Texas on 1.5 acres.

Dave was blacksmithing, carpentering, and farming in
Wylie, Texas. He also picked a fiddle at dances.

Dave G. Wood can be found in the 1910 Texas Census
(Collin County) Vol 27, E.D. 23, Sheet 4, Line 84

Dave G. Wood can be found in the 1920 Texas Census
(Dallas County) Vol 46, E.D. 91, Sheet 10, Line 64

He is buried in Rockwall Cemetery about 14 sites in front
of a tin storage building between 2 big metal highline poles
(by a 4 ft tall Memosa tree in 1999).

by Rachel Wood [Cooper] Culver. Mattie Wood Smith, her sister, had the
family Bible. It was copied again on August 6, 1989 by Nita [Cooper] Williams
for her mother's only living sister, Etter [Woods] Rogers.
