recipes have been collected by family and friends for many years.
I can remember my Grandmother "Mawmaw" formally known as Etta Rogers making
many of the recipes listed. Some are so old they don't have specific
instructions. I've found listings such as moderate oven, no mixing
instructions, etc. Feel free to send me an email
if you have any questions and/or comments. If I can't answer your
question, I'll do my best to find someone in the family who can.

Angle Pie Crust
3 Egg Whites
1 C. Sugar
½ Tbsp. Baking Powder
20 Ritz Crackers (Made into crumbs)
1 C. Chopped Pecans
Beat egg whites. Add sugar, baking powder, crumbs, and pecans.
Mix. Put in buttered pie pan and bake 30 minutes at 350.
Apple Pie
6 Apples (Rome Beauty or Johnathan)
1 ½ C. Sugar
1 teas. Cinnamon
2 Tbsp. Flour
Butter
Crust with Top Crust
Grate apples on course cheese grater (large holes). Mix sugar,
cinnamon, and flour. Place in crust: Layer of grated apples, then layer
of mixture alternately, ending with mixture. Dot with butter. Cover with
top crust. Bake 1 hour at 350.

Butterscotch Pie
1 ½ C. Sugar (Browned)
4 Tbsp. Flour
½ C. Sugar
4 Eggs
3 C. Milk
1 teas. Vanilla
Brown sugar in iron skillet. This make it taste like butterscotch.
Mix flour and sugar. In separate bowl, mix eggs, milk, and vanilla.
Mix flour mixture and egg mixture. Cook until very thick. Put into baked
9" pie crust. Let cool completely before serving.
Optional: Serve with cool whip on top.
Chess Pie
3 Eggs
1 ½ C. Sugar
½ teas. Vinegar
1 Tbsp. Cornmeal
1 teas. Vanilla
1 Stick Butter (Soft)
Mix sugar, butter, and eggs real good. Then mix the rest.
Cook for 10 minutes on 425, then 25 minutes at 225.
Francis Dugas
Chocolate Chess Pie
1 ½ C. Sugar
1 Stick Margarnie or ½ C
3 Eggs
1 Tbsp. Cornmeal
1 Tbsp. Flour
1/3 C. Cocoa
½ C. Canned Milk
1 teas. Vanilla
1 9" Pie Crust (Unbaked)
Melt margarine and remove from heat. Sift sugar, flour, cornmeal,
and cocoa together. Add cooled margarine, eggs, and milk. Then add vanilla.
Pour into unbaked pie crust. Bake at 350 for 45 or 50 minutes.
Chocolate Pecan Pie
1 (4 oz.) Pkg. Bakers German Sweet Chocolate
2 Tbsp. Margarine
1 C. Corn Syrup
1/3 C. Sugar
3 Eggs
1 teas. Vanilla
1 ½ C. Pecan Halves
1 Unbaked Pie Shell
Cool Whip Thawed (Optional)
Heat oven to 350. Microwave chocolate and margarine in large
bowl on high for 2 minutes or until margarine is melted. Stir until chocolate
is melted. Stir in corn syrup, sugar, eggs, and vanilla. Then stir in pecans
reserving 8 halves for garnish. Bake for 55 minutes.
Chocolate Pie
3 Egg Yolks
1 ½ C. Sugar
½ C. Flour
1 teas. Vanilla
2 Tbsp. Cocoa
1 (11 oz.) Can Pet Milk
Beat eggs. Mix flour, sugar, and cocoa and set aside. Blend
eggs and milk. Add flour mixture to eggs and milk. Blend well. Cook slowly
until it thickens. Pour into baked pie shell. Mix left-over egg whites
until peaks then top pie. Put in oven and brown egg whites.
Creamy Peach Pie
5 to 7 Canned Peach Halves (Well Drained)
2 Tbsp. Butter (Soften)
1 C. Sugar
2 Eggs
Dash of Salt
Arrange peaches, cut side up, in unbaked 8" pie shell. Combine
butter, sugar, eggs and salt in bowl. Mix well. Pour mixture over peaches.
Bake at 400 for 30 minutes. Cool

Eaglebrand Pineapple
Pie
2 Graham Cracker Pie Crust
9 oz. Cool Whip
1 C. Pecans
1 Can Eagle Brand Milk
1 Can Crushed Pineapple
¼ C. Lemon Juice
Mix milk and lemon juice in large bowl. Add cool whip to
milk mixture. Drain pineapple well. Mix with rest of mixture. Add nuts.
Refrigerate.
Jack's Skillet Pie
1 C. Flour
1 C. Sugar
1 teas. Baking Powder
¼ teas Salt
¾ C. Sweet Milk
1 Stick Butter
2 C. Fruit
Mix flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and milk. Set aside.
Melt butter in skillet. Pour batter over butter. Pour fruit on top and
bake slowly at 350 for 20 to 30 minutes until done.
Jeff Davis Pie
3 C. Sugar
1 C. Butter
1 Tbsp. Flour
¼ teas. Salt
1 teas. Vanilla
4 Eggs (Lightly Beaten)
1 C. Sweet Milk
Cream sugar and butter. Blend flour, salt, vanilla, and beat
well. Add eggs to sugar and butter. Stir into mix and bake in oven at 450
for 10 minutes then reduce to 350 for 30 minutes.
Mozelle Rogers
Lemon Meringue Pie
1 Graham Cracker Pie Crust
1 Can Eagle Brand Milk
1 teas. Grated Lemon Rind or ¼ teas. Lemon Extract
½ C. Lemon Juice
2 Egg Yolks
Mix all ingredients in mixing bowl. Stir until mixture thickens.
Pour into pie crust.
Lemon Pie
1 ½ C. Sugar
¼ C. Flour
3 Egg Yolks
1 ½ C. Milk
2 Tbsp. Grated Lemon Rind
½ C. Lemon Juice
Mix sugar and flour. Beat egg yolks and add to sugar and
flour with milk. Add other ingredients slowly. Cook until smooth and thick.
Mama's Chocolate Pie
¾ C. Sugar
2 Heaping Tbsp. Cocoa
2 Heaping Tbsp. Flour
Pinch Salt
¼ C. Hot Water
3 Egg Yolks (Beaten)
1 ¾ C. Milk
1 Tbsp. Butter
1 teas. Vanilla
1 (8" or 9") Pie Shell (Cooked)
3 Egg Whites
Mix sugar, cocoa, flour, and salt well in saucepan. Add hot
water. Stir to desolve sugar and cocoa mixture. Gradually add egg yolks;
mix well. Gradually add milk; stir well. Add butter; cook stirring constantly
over medium, then low heat until mixture thickens and comes to a full boil.
Remove from heat. Cool 5 minutes. Add vanilla and stir. Cool, stirring
2 or 3 times. Pour into cooked pie shell. Mix egg whites until turns to
meringue. Top pie with meringue and brown in oven. Cool and serve.
Maudie Miller
Oatmeal Pie
½ C. White Sugar
2 Eggs (Beaten)
¾ C. Quick Cook Oatmeal (Not Cooked)
½ C. Coconut
Pinch of Salt
¾ C. Brown Sugar
½ Stick Margarine (Softened)
1 teas. Vanilla
Mix well. Pour in 9" unbaked pie crust. Bake at 350 for 45
minutes.

Pecan Pie 1
¼ C. Butter or Margarine
½ C. Sugar
1 C. Dark Corn Syrup
¼ teas. Salt
3 Eggs
1 C. Pecans
Cream butter to soften. Add sugar gradually and cream till
fluffy. Add syrup and salt; beat well. Add eggs one at a time, beating
thoroughly after each. Stir in pecans. Pour into unbaked pastry shell.
Bake at 350 for 50 minutes.

Pecan Pie 2 (I use this
recipe)
¼ C. Butter or Margarine (Melted)
3 Eggs (Slightly Beaten)
½ C. Sugar
1 C. Pecans (Chopped)
1 C. White Karo Syrup
½ teas. Salt
1 teas. Vanilla
Mix all ingredients well. Pour into unbaked pie crust. Bake
at 350 for 50 mintutes.
Etta Rogers
Pineapple Pie (2 Pies)
1 Stick Oleo (Melted)
4 Tbsp. Flour
2 ½ C. Sugar
1 C. Pineapple (Crushed & Drained)
1 teas. Vanilla
5 Eggs
Praline Dream Pie
½ C. Chopped Pecans or Walnuts
1/3 C. Margarine or Butter
1/3 C. Firmly Packed Light Brown Sugar
1 Baked Pastry Shell (9") Cooled
2 Envelopes Dream Whip Whipped Topping Mix
2 ¾ C. Cold Milk (Divided)
1 teas. Vanilla
2 Pkgs. (4 Serving Size) Jello Vanilla Flavor Instant
Pudding and Pie Filling
Heat nuts, margarine and sugar in small saucepan until margarine
and sugar are melted and mixture comes to boil. Boil 30 seconds. Spread
on bottom of pastry shell. Cool. Beat whipped topping, 1 cup of the milk
and vanilla in large bowl with electric mixer on high speed about 6 minutes
or until topping thickens and forms peaks. Add remaining milk and pudding
mix; blend on low speed. Beat on high speed 2 minutes, scraping bowl occasionally.
Spoon into pastry shell. Refrigerate at least 4 hours or until ready to
serve. Garnish as desired. Makes 8 servings.
Note: Filling makes enough for 2 pies.

Pumpkin Pie
1 Can Libby's Pumpkin
2 C. Sugar
1 Large Can Pet Milk
6 Eggs (Well Beaten)
1 Tbsp. Vanilla
1 teas. Nutmeg
½ teas. Salt
Bake in pie shell in hot oven for 10 minutes. Reduce heat
and bake in moderate oven for 45 minutes.
